ROASTMASTER ROB'S CORNER
February 2008
Howdy everyone, I’m Roastmaster Rob. This is the area where you get to ask me
questions or just give me comments. I welcome them all, both good and bad. On this
page, I will post questions that you have sent me, as well as the answers. If you want to
send me a question or comment, please use our main contact form. Just choose Roastmaster
Rob on the pull down menu, and it will come directly to me. Check this page often, as I will
post some of your questions, along with my responses, here.
Q. Are all of your coffees really organic? – Nancy, FL
A. Yes, all of our coffees are certified organic. Every bag of coffee beans that we order has a
Certificate of Organic Certification. They are kept on file in the True Blue Coffee Roasters
headquarters. Anyone who wishes to see them can stop by, as they are always available for
inspection. I made a promise that our company would always be open and transparent, and I
will keep that promise.
Q. What makes you so sure that you have the “best” coffee beans? - Greg, PA
A. We have several brokers that source out the best coffee beans on the market. Before I
have even the seen the beans, they have been tested and cupped thoroughly. Once the
beans arrive at our warehouse, they are cupped again and test roasted to find the perfect
roast for you. I will never lose sight of the fact that this business is all about the customers.
Our customers deserve the very best, and I will see that you get it.
Q. I’ve noticed you don’t always have certain coffees in stock. Why not? – Allison, CT
A. There are a couple of reasons why we will stop offering a coffee temporarily. Mistakes
happen, and sometimes, we will simply under estimate the popularity of a coffee, and we run
out before we can get a new shipment in. The most common cause though, is that we will
come up on the end of last years harvest. If those coffee beans are not up to the standards
we set, then we will not purchase them. It is possible to take a great bean and ruin it with a
poor roast, but I cannot take a poor bean and make it better with roasting.
Q. Do you really read all the emails sent to you? – Kathrine, LA
A. Yes, I do read every email sent to me. When time allows, I personally answer them. My
goal is to create a “community” of coffee lovers to share advice and tips. I want to learn as
much as possible from our customers. If you take the time to contact me, I will take the time
to find out whatever you wanted to know. I am here for you. I have said, and will continue
to say, this is a journey we are taking with our customers, and we welcome you and
encourage you to get involved.
